Hi Lostfromthefaith, I was the same age you were when I made the mistake of joining the religion that most members of this forum used to be in.
What is as important as finding out what's good for you is realizing what's not good or even dangerous to you. Read all you can but don't join any religion. I hope that in your studies you come to the realization that the Judeo-Christian bible is an insane religion which contradicts itself and is evil. This link will show you why you shouldn't respect the Bible.
Yes, it's all fake, God and devil, heaven and hell but life can be rich without these religions. If your mind insists on having a religion then, and I speak as an atheist, Buddhism is the least destructive and non dictatorial religion.

CO kept mispronouncing "debt"
by Red Piller inso, this happened a while ago - but i never posted on it.
during a co visit, he gave a talk relating to jesus ransom (i think) and the "debt" that was owed by sin, etc.... he kept saying "debt" and he kept pronouncing the "b".
so it sounded like "deb-t".

"Aluminium -> Aluminum (sounds to us like the person is having a stoke while trying to say Aluminium)"
Aluminum has two different spellings and pronunciations. For example: http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=aluminum (audio).

BART EHRMAN answers my question
by TerryWalstrom inas a member on bart ehrman's blog, i am able to ask him direct questions.is jehovah in the bible?.
question:.
how firmly grounded in reality is the claim of jehovahs witnesses that the divine name (jehovah) belongs in the new testament?.
-

@ Perry:
Bart Ehrman is a tragic figure, and a heretic.
"Ehrman rejects the deity, sinlessness, miracles, and bodily resurrection of Jesus. He believes that the Christian faith is a myth and that at least 19 of the books in the New Testament are forgeries"
There are plenty of Atheist, Agnostic and non Judeo-Christian scholars with a deep interest and understanding of the Bible. Those who study mythology don't have to believe in the myths. Your calling them "heretic" is no different than the Watchtower calling us apostates.

Please help me figure out my dreams
by Socrateswannabe inhi everyone, this may be the stupidest post ever.
i am stumped for an answer and would love to hear your opinions, though.
every week or two for the last couple of years, i have a dream--or at least that's what i'm calling it--that consists of me waking up or thinking that i've waked up, and seeing the ceiling of my darkened bedroom filled with algebraic equations.

PIÑATAS
by Lifeisfun inin most of latin america, and particularly in mexico, pinatas are a no no for jws.
normally used for kids birthdays and christmas parties, pinatas are simply known to be inapropiate among jws and associated with paganism.
as result you would never expect to see any of those spiritually dangerous monsters at a social gathering organized by a witness in good, medium, or even bad standing in the congregation because, why would you?!

"Pagan" is a bugaboo word that refers to any and all religions that are not Jewish or Christian. Christianity had no traditions except for communion and thus you can expect that anything other than that would have been labeled as non-Christian, hence pagan. -

Ucantnome: "I declined as I knew it wasn't real and felt I shouldn't. had a little difficulty getting back."
If you ever have that dream again don't decline. How "real' the dream is is not relevant it's the meaning that counts. That's your subconscious trying to tell you something.
If you were in a single bed it implies that you weren't sleeping with your wife. Her calling out to you might have something to do with that.
